学生参议院

Want to take your college experience to the next level? Do you wish to make a difference in your school and community?

The 学生参议院 is an integral part of Pima 社区 College. Senators are responsible for creating a bridge between the student body and the college administration, advocate for the common interests of students and provide support and guidance on student activities. Student Senators strive to create an inclusive environment within the college, create and maintain open lines of commutation between students and leadership and above all become leaders of change.

P.A.S.S. Structure and Functions

Each spring semester, elections are held district-wide. 学生参议院 consists of up to two student representatives from the following Pima 社区 College campuses and one appointed representative from Adult Basic Education:

• Desert Vista Campus
• Downtown Campus
• 东校区
• Northwest Campus
• 西校区
• 在线

Student representatives would bring issues and concerns of students, 工作人员, program leaders, et cetera to Pima 政府. These student representatives also meet once a month to continually improve the college experiences for those mentioned above.

一旦承认, these students will vote for one other to fulfill leadership roles which is found in the P.A.S.S. 章程.

Three of the 14 representatives are elected to join the All College Council. 这个委员会, made up of students, 教师, 工作人员, and administrators, makes recommendations to the Chancellor to improve student success and support Pima’s mission. One of these three is then elected to serve as the Student Representative to the Pima 社区 College Governing Board. Check out a list of P.A.S.S. 职责.

• Encourage student representatives to use their voice to make a difference and reassure them of the value of that voice.
• Create realistic goals for projects they wish to complete during their period in office.
• Establish a professional relation with each member.
• Equip students with the skills necessary to be an effective leader.
• Develop skills and knowledge through leadership development, education and engagement through the mentorship program
